About Ms. Brianna
A little about your student's school counselor! I grew up in Maine and finished my bachelor's degree in Sociology and Social Work at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. From there I moved to Chicago and attended DePaul University earning my Master's Degree in School Counseling in 2012. I have been working at Edna Libby ever since! In my free time I love to spend time with my family, train for long distance runs and travel!
As your student's school counselor I integrate the American School Counselor Association Standards (ASCA) with Common Core standards for my classroom lessons. I use a Solution-Focused Counseling approach when working with the students at Edna Libby. My ultimate goal is to have all students in the classroom ready and able to learn! Life can get in the way of that from time to time and my approach allows me to assist a student quickly and effectively whether it be through short-term individual work or group work. However, there are times when a student needs more time to process and work through what is going on, in that case we will work together to come up with a plan that supports your student. For longer term support we have Durinda Chase, an LCSW from Spurwink who is able to support those needs.
